County Health Department preparing for phase 1B

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - With the first round of COVID-19 vaccinations behind us, the phase 1B will begin and here’s what Laramie County Residents need to know.

“The Phase 1B is going to be expedited because we’re getting more organizations that are able to help give vaccines. We opened up to more pharmacies and more care providers that can get those vaccines pushed out, so that we’re getting to more people quicker,” Laramie County Health Department, Executive Director, Kathy Emmons said.

Some Cheyenne Healthcare workers, other front-line personnel got their second dose of the vaccine recently.Laramie County Health Department announced the phase 1B vaccination was set to begin this week.

While supplies are limited the County Health Department says it is looking at expanding resources. “That is certainly one of the options is to take one of our current drive-thru testing sites and reconfigure it to a vaccination site.”

The Next Phase of vaccine distribution will include teachers and other essential workers.
