Snow Showers & Stronger Winds Headline the Weekend

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 5 a.m. Sunday & a High Wind Warning in effect until Tuesday 8 a.m.

North Western Areas a High Wind Warning in effect until Monday @ 12 p.m. and Winter Storm/ Weather Advisories in effect near Jackson and the Tetons until Saturday @ 6 p.m.

After a wonderful afternoon for much of Eastern Wyoming. Clouds, and cold swept the state bringing snow with it. Heavier snow bands have begun in the afternoon around the Thermopolis area and Riverton areas and is moving eastward looking to impact Casper around dinner time this evening.

Southern Wyoming has an increase in winds bringing breezier conditions to Cheyenne and Laramie but they also look to not be spared from snow this evening. A Snow Squall was reported earlier this afternoon in Laramie and bands of snow are moving eastward along I-80. With more snow looking to accumulate in the mountainous areas in Sierra Madre and the Snowys.

Expect light snow showers around Cheyenne tonight but much clearer weather is on the way for Sunday with the loveable winds Wyoming is known for.

Temperatures look to hang around the 30s on Sunday and winds could reach 50MPH + Sunday afternoon so eating outside or a run in the afternoon may not be the best option. Areas around I-80 will continue to be on the strong side and will even reach into Central Wyoming bringing breezier conditions for Sunday.

Long Range: Temperatures are expected to hit pleasant conditions for this time of year on Monday in SE Wyoming. However, winds will remain on the strong side throughout the beginning of the week.
