CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - On Monday afternoon the internet provider Spectrum was joined by Mayor Patrick Collins to present the Cheyenne Boys & Girls Club with a Spectrum Digital Education Grant.

The funding is part of the company’s multi-year, $6 million cash and in-kind national commitment to digital education in Spectrum communities.

The Digital Education Grant has enabled the Boys & Girls Club of Cheyenne to purchase essential technology resources such as laptop and desktop computers for its members.

“I can attest to what it’s like to be behind when it comes to digital education. I’ve struggled my whole adult career trying to understand computers, so i realize how important this is. This gift will last a lifetime for these children, when it comes to their ability to navigate what’s going on in today’s technologies,” City of Cheyenne, Mayor Patrick Collins said.

Spectrum’s media relations says, this particular grant is part of the company’s doubling of its original 2020 commitment to digital education, awarding a total of $1 million to 47 organizations providing broadband education, technology and training.
