CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Casper workforce center officials say that the energy industry is still in limbo, but there are still industries that need people to work for them.

Jaime Cruz, the Casper workforce center business representative, said a few industries that have lots of available jobs are hospitality, retail and construction. They mark what industries need help right now from jobs posted on their website wyomingatwork.com. They’ve also noticed a lot of administration positions. They aren’t seeing very many positions for the energy industry.

“We haven’t noticed much movement right now and unfortunately there hasn’t been a lot,” Cruz said. Cruz said some good news is that Wyoming bars and restaurants are coming back stronger than other states. “We were at about 14 percent better than others,” Cruz said.

The Casper Workforce Center will be holding a virtual job fair on May 4, 2021.
