CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Casper Area Chamber of Commerce gathered members and a few local elected officials together to discuss the most recent legislative session.

Kevin O’Hearn, House District 59 representative, spoke about his first-floor session. He said he learned how to present bills and amend them. All of the speakers talked about other topics from this year’s session like marijuana, education and Medicaid expansion. Charles Scott, District 30 senator, said a couple of issues in the education system now are students reading levels and funding issues.

“Athletics is funded at a much higher percentage than the experts call for. It’s important and I wouldn’t down grad it for a moment I saw what it did for my kids,” Scott said.
