CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - As the temperature begins to tick back up and the sun is peeking out, there’s a temptation to get together and celebrate.

Casper Parks and Recreation Director Tim Cortez said his department is already seeing the number of reservations for park facilities rack up. Right now, they are receiving about 5 to 10 reservations a day.

“If somebody has something important that they want to celebrate and they want to have people at a certain park at a certain time, you want to get it reserved,” said Cortez. “That way if somebody’s already sitting in that shelter and they’re having a picnic, unless you have a reservation, you don’t have access to that shelter.”

Casper has 37 parks available for reservations. The average park reservation costs about $30.

Cortez said there’s been about $2,000 in reservations revenue already, and that’s a number that excites him in April.
