Lake View Gardens continues to expand produce offerings
PAVILLION, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
What better way to celebrate Earth Day than to talk plants? Lake View Gardens owners have been living and breathing plants with their multi-green house facility near Pavillion for two years now. They have experimented and excelled with hydroponic gardening specializing in microgreens, various flavor of lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, and flowers among others.
They are now branching out even broader and are working on growing citrus.
Owner of Lake View Gardens, Dirk Gosnell stated, “This year for Earth Day I decided I was going to plant a lemon tree. I have kind of a limited grow area and of course you know what the weather’s like in Wyoming so lemon trees probably won’t grow outside since they’re a citrus. What I’ve decided to do is we went with a dwarf lemon tree. This particular variety will get about five feet tall. You can prune it to keep it at about that height. It will typically grow to about 13 feet.”
Lake View Gardens can be reached on Facebook at Lake View Gardens and will be selling their produce and other homemade fare at the Riverton, Lander, and Dubois farmer’s markets. The next one is Saturday morning from 9-11 a.m. at the Fremont County Fairgrounds.
