CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Casper native Justin Kinner has been ultrarunning since 2015. The most ultramarathons he’s completed in a summer before is two, but this year he’s upping the ante.

Kinner will attempt the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning. “I’m just kinda looking forward to pushing my limits a little bit further,” said Kinner.

Each race consists of 100 miles and are located across the United States. “It’s not something that anybody can just like ‘Oh, I’m gonna go run a hundred miles,’” said Kinner. “It’s not a couch to 100 hundred mile program.”

This difficult feat is one of the reasons that fellow Casper native Jeremy Miller wanted to turn Kinner’s quest into a documentary.

“It’s a good piece of inspiration for a lot of people to see what humans are really capable of,” said Miller. “Most people if you tell them ya know ‘I’m gonna go run a hundred miles this weekend’ they think you’re just crazy or that’s not possible. I mean he’s doing four of them in a summer.”

Miller said he was looking forward to seeing Kinner’s progress through the four races. “There’s gonna be a lot of ups and downs. It’s gonna be a roller coaster for sure,” said Miller. “So I think just capturing all of the raw emotions that come with pushing yourself through some difficult situations like that. I think that’ll be interesting to see.”

Miller hopes that after watching the documentary someone might question what they are capable of themself.

“It doesn’t have to be a physical thing, ya know like running four 100 hundred mile races, but doing better in their own life. Whatever aspect that may be.”

The documentary will be available to stream this fall.
