Wyoming State Library reaches 1 Million downloads
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The Wyoming State Library has reached a total of 1 million downloads for its e-library over the last ten years.
Before the pandemic, the state library averaged 70 thousand downloads annually of their e-books, audiobooks and magazines.
This year so far the number jumped to 250 thousand downloads alone.
During the lock-down online readers and listeners have headed to the state library’s site to find a socially safe activity to do.
Community libraries, colleges and universities have collaborated to offer online materials to patrons which are available 24/7.
We love our patrons, quite frankly our digital content has been downloaded more in the past 12 months than in the 24 months before. so people know where to find their libraries, whether it’s in person or online everybody wins here.
As restrictions ease, libraries will begin opening more to the public and the summer reading program is set to start soon as well, to encourage children to read over the summer.
