CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Marginal risk for severe weather has expired but we do have continued potentials for Thunderstorms around much of the state with rain showers. Winds are picking up to a breezy pace in SE Wyoming.

An upper level trough set in the SE corner of Wyoming is carrying an abundance of moisture that will be producing showers and storms this afternoon. Expect areas to have gusty winds, moderate to heavy rain, and, small hail to fall this afternoon during these instances.

Storms are beginning in SE Wyoming especially in Cheyenne. Storms don’t look to be severe today, however, some areas may experience small hail. Large rain drops are to be expected with thunderstorms that develop in the afternoon with moderate to heavy pockets of rain to be expected. Storms look to be brief this afternoon when they occur but will be off and on throughout the afternoon. Careful when traveling!

Keep the rain gear nearby and the umbrella at the ready. This afternoon will be a wet one continued throughout.
