Cheyenne Frontier Days setup nearly complete
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - “The Granddaddy Of ‘Em All” is getting closer and closer to it’s big return. While many will come out and participate in the grand spectacle, very few get to see how many people it takes to get everything prepared.
In preparation for CFD, volunteers have been working on the setup for every section of the arena. From food trucks to gift shops to the scenery as you walk in the gate, nothing can go unchecked prior to Frontier Days’ beginning. Even when the western celebration is underway, many will still be working throughout the event, continuing to elevate the experience. But no matter how many hours it takes to set up, the end result leads many to coming back every year to help.
“It’s a great crew that runs Cheyenne Frontier Days,” said Sandy Waldron, owner of Sandy’s Candy Land. “It’s like family, it’s like coming home. That’s why it’s the granddaddy of them all, it’s great.”
This will be Sandy’s tenth year representing her store at CFD, with many returning for even longer to participate.
Frontier Days officially takes off on Friday, July 23rd, but the volunteers who have worked on the event will have made their mark all throughout the week and beyond.
