Hot Days Are Staying
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
This morning, the entire state was clear of any clouds and precipitation. This emptiness leaves plenty of room for the sun to come through and heat us up quickly. Luckily, the state is also clear of any Fire Weather Risks and Fire Weather Watches/Warnings. Casper and Cheyenne are both experiencing smoky and hazy conditions this morning, thought neither are under an Air Quality Warning. The western half of the state is under Air Quality Warnings, which is in effect until Monday (today) at 1:15PM. There is another warning which is in place in Sheridan County until Monday (today) at 2PM.
We are going to continue having clear skies until later this afternoon or early evening. A few clouds and possible scattered showers will be seen by a couple of us. Hopefully this cloud chance will allow a brief break from too much of the heat.
We have been watching temperatures stay pretty consistent over the past week. After the weekend, we are beginning to watch them climb again for a few more days. Today, the high temperatures are hot! Majority of the state has temperatures in the 90s or greater, even pushing past triple digits in some places. The southern portion of the state is seeing most of the 90 degree temperatures. The northeast corner is claiming the triple digits today. Thermopolis and north to Sheridan have been forecast to reach 101 degrees today.
If you think today is going to be hot, get ready because tomorrow will be even hotter! There is going to be a huge range of temperature tomorrow in the Cowboy State. These temperatures are going to range from the 80s to greater than 100 degrees. The western border of the state is expected to get a few showers tomorrow, which is helping them to stay in the 80 degree temperatures. While the western border stays cool, the rest of the state is in the 90s and beyond again. More places tomorrow will belong in the and beyond category. The hottest temperatures will stay put in the northeast corner, but also extending down the eastern border as well. Riverton and Casper will see a high temperature of 100 degrees. Sheridan and Gillette have both been forecasted to reach 105 degrees as their high temperature for tomorrow.
