Clear, then Warm, then Windy

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Warm temperatures are back for today after the passage of the weather system last night. Dry conditions are back prompting a new fire weather watch for the southwestern corner of the state. We still have heavy smoke around much of the state keeping those air quality alerts still active until tomorrow afternoon.
Smoke looks to be clearing up, actually, over the next few days with more moderate conditions going into Friday. This is due a new frontal system that will begin making it’s way through the state.
Right now, we have that trough that moved out to the east bringing the line of showers and storms with it. To the north, there is a cold front dipping down from Montana that’ll increase the rain chances for the northern regions, mostly in the northwest near Yellowstone.
However, that will combine with another system from the Pacific Northwest creating a cold front that’ll move from the west across the state. It will not bring us cooler temperatures, however, it will bring us very gusty winds going into the weekend. For tonight, we can see mostly clear skies with the slight chance for some isolated showers in the northern parts of the state. Very cool and seasonable temperatures are to be expected with mid 50s being common. Tomorrow, warming up once again with more of those upper 80s and 90s around the state.
