Casper College welcomes students back to campus on move in day
CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Thursday was the first of two move in days for Casper College students living on campus. Residence hall staff members are excited to see students back together.
“I am just so excited to put on these programs and help these kids because I was like ‘oh my gosh I’m a freshman like what do I do’ and all of my RAs were there for me and I want to be there for them,” said Dallas Baker, a resident assistant at Casper College.
Incoming freshman and sophomores spent the day meeting their resident assistant, getting their keys, and decorating their rooms. Many students say they are excited to be on campus, without masks, starting a normal semester. Students say living in the residence hall allows them to gain a support system away from home. One student, who is from Casper, says living on campus allows her to make friends she may not have known outside of class.
“I chose to live on campus because with my team here and to meet all the new people and even people who aren’t my team but just students and to see them in the classroom but also see them in the dorm. I think it helps you create better relationships and you know it’s part of the college experience,” said Kate Robertson, a student athlete at Casper College.
Casper College starts the fall semester August 23rd.
