CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Saturday served up a tennis doubleheader in Casper. Typical Wyoming winds played a factor as tennis athletes from Cheyenne and Casper squared off.

The Kelly Walsh Trojans hosted East in the morning and welcomed Central at the Casper Country Club for the afternoon.

Over at Washington Park, Natrona County had it flipped with Central visiting first.

NC’s only two wins on the day came behind the racket of Theresa Trvajova, who knocked off Central’s Ashli Smedley 6-3, 6-0 and East’s Paige Frazier 6-2, 6-0.

As for the rest of the team results in the morning, Central won 5-0 in the boys’ matches against Natrona County and 4-1 in the girls’. Kelly Walsh swept East 5-0 for the boys’ and girls’ matches.

In the afternoon, Kelly Walsh and Central’s boy’s kept it tight with the Trojans coming out ahead 3-2. The Kelly Walsh girls swept Central 5-0.

East bounced back against NC finishing the boys’ matches 5-0 and the girls’ 4-1.

Kelly Walsh and Natrona County tennis will head to Sheridan Monday, and East and Central face off against each other Wednesday.
