CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - LCCC honored some of their history on august 28 by inducting a few vital people that provided their school with the platform needed to grow and develop.

The 1986-1987 Men’s Basketball Team was the first and only LCCC team to win the Region Nine Championship, with four future D1 players coming from that roster.

Woody Halverson was the first ever coach of the Men’s Basketball Program. He also served as an Athletic Director, Instructor, and founded the Booster Club. He holds the school win record at 318.

Todd Suhn was one of the catalyst that lead LCCC to qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo in both years that he attended.

Ron Tate, a member of the ‘86-’87 team, goes into the HOF as an individual. He was a First-Team All American that year, and had an average of 21 points per game.

Russell “Pinky” Walter brought over 600 students into the program, and provided a stable hand in legitimizing the Rodeo Program at LCCC.
