LCCC offers student Covid-19 financial relief
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Laramie County Community College students negatively impacted by the pandemic may be in for some relief.
The LCCC Covid-19 Fall 2021 emergency grant is the higher education emergency relief fund authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
Administrators at LCCC are encouraging students to take full advantage of the higher education emergency relief fund.
This is money in the form of a grant that the school gives students based on degree or diploma enrollment status, non-student workforce training, or financial need.
It is meant to help with the adverse impacts due to the pandemic. The grant can be used for tuition, childcare, rent, or groceries.
“Its a huge opportunity for students, if you’re a student right now and you’ve been impacted by covid take advantage of this opportunity so that we can help you in any way. If you haven’t been to the l-triple- c campus lately come and see what we’re doing now,” said Dr. Melissa Stutz, Vice President of Student Services, LCCC.
Last year 1,500 students used this grant; this year, 500 have applied.
