CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - On Tuesday, August 24, the Buffalo Bills claimed former UW CB Rico Gafford off waivers, raising the total number of former Wyoming Football players to 4. The others were Quarterback Josh Allen, Wide Receiver Tanner Gentry, and Tight End Jacob Hollister.

On Tuesday, Wyoming News Now has learned from the Bills official Twitter (@BuffaloBills) that three of the players have been released. Of course, 2020 Pro Bowl Quarterback Josh Allen was not among the cuts.

Gafford was the first former Poke to be released, with the roster move announced on Friday. Then in an effort to reduce the active roster to 53, the league-mandated roster limit, 23 Bills players were cut on Tuesday. Jacob Hollister and Tanner Gentry were among the cuts.

However, the Bills announced on Wednesday that Gentry was one of 15 players signed to the practice squad.

The Buffalo Bills kick off the regular season on Sunday, September 12 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.
