Another Flip In The Forecast
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
Yesterday was full of heavy cloud coverage and showers throughout the state. The forecast has now flipped. Today was all about the sunny skies and cooler temperatures. This morning, left over clouds were continuing to clear out, but they were quick to move out.
Smoke has been quite consistent in the forecasts over the past month. With help from the rain and cold front yesterday, a majority of the heavy smoke is sticking to the western half of the state. Early Friday morning, Cheyenne and the southeastern corner may get some of moderately heavy smoke before it pushes back west in the afternoon. With most of the heavy smoke staying to the west, Air Quality Warnings are in the northwestern corner of the state today until 1:15PM.
Today has been very clear and sunny. There is going to be yet another flip in the forecast, as we head towards tomorrow. Tonight, light clouds will move into the southeastern corner and will stick around through the afternoon tomorrow. By tomorrow afternoon, there will be an increase in the rain chance. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will track through the southern half of the state. There is a Marginal Thunderstorm Risk placed along the eastern border for these showers and storms tomorrow. Gusty winds, heavy rain, and a chance of seeing some small sized hail are all possible.
High temperatures today were in the 70s and 80s across the state. These temperatures are much cooler than where they were at the beginning of the week. Tonight, the temperatures will cool again into the 40s and 50s. The northwestern corner will be in the 30s. Temperatures tomorrow are going to drop once again. Majority of the state will have high temperatures in the 70s. These temperatures will feel very mild and comfortable heading into the weekend.
