CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Theresa Trvajova is not a native of Casper, or even the United States, but she’s made herself right at home on the tennis courts for Natrona County High School.

Trvajova is a foreign exchange student at Natrona County and the number one girl’s singles player for the Mustangs on the tennis court.

During her matches from Aug. 30 to Sept. 4, she dominated the competition. Natrona County faced off against challengers from Rawlins and Jackson, and Trvajova was not to be trifled.

She won all four sets she played 6-0, and in her last four matches, she’d only lost a total of four games.

“When I’m on a tennis court, everything else just disappears,” said Trvajova. “I’m concentrating on just the ball, and when I have a really good rally with my opponent, it’s really great to see the work, ya know, the progress, and when you put the work in and it pays off, it’s amazing.”

“Theresa’s the kind of player that every coach dreams of coaching,” said Natrona County Head Tennis Coach Mike Akers. “She has [a] tremendous work ethic. She practices hard. She plays hard. She makes those around her better players. Theresa’s very competitive. She plays hard in matches and in practice, yet she balances that competitive spirit with humility, which is very refreshing.”

In her free time, Trvajova said she enjoys reading, arts, languages and spending time with her friends and family.

Congratulations to Theresa Trvajova, Wyoming News Now Prep Athlete of the Week.
