A Change Is On The Way
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
Today is another hot day in the Cowboy State! One change compared to yesterday will be the cloud coverage. Lots of clouds will be seen today. These clouds have been seen on the radar and satellite since early this morning. They are currently moving in from the West, and will be bringing in some scattered showers to the western half of the state this afternoon.
The smoke looks to be clearing out as we head closer to this weekend. Today, the heaviest of the smoke is in a small pocket near Sheridan and Gillette. Tonight, the smoke will adjust to be in the northeastern corner of the state. With this system of clouds moving through, we will begin to see lighter smoke conditions entering into Saturday. Those lighter smoke conditions will be seen going all the way into Sunday morning.
AS far as warnings go today, there are only a few pockets where Air Quality Warnings are in place. In the southeast corner, this area of the Air Quality Warning is in effect until 1PM. Along the northern border, that area of Air Quality Warning is in effect until 1:15PM. There is also a broad area of the state under a Fire Weather Warning. this Fire Weather Warning is in effect until Friday (today) at 8PM.
High temperatures today look a lot like yesterday’s, in the mid to upper 90s in the eastern half of the state. Low temperatures tonight will range from the 40s to the 60s. With help from the clouds and scattered showers, temperatures tomorrow will begin cooling off. High temperatures on Saturday will be in the 70s and 80s, with a few cities in the low 90s. As the weekend continues and next week begins, temperatures will be much cooler compared to this past week.
