Cheyenne’s Cole Elementary put on lockdown after armed person reported nearby

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Release) - At approximately 3:30 p.m., Cole Elementary went into lockdown after a community member reported that they saw an individual in the vicinity with a firearm. They immediately called the Cheyenne Police Department.

Lockdown protocol is enacted when there is the possibility of imminent danger to students, staff or the public in or near the facility. Officers were on site and investigated the situation.  The all clear was given and students were released through normal end of day procedures at 3:52 pm.
