Last Day of Summer, Does that Mean Cooler Weather?
21 September 2021
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - For today being the last day of summer, we saw excellent conditions around the state. Cool temperatures, clear skies, and a nice breeze. Typically, when we see nice conditions like this after a frontal passage, the smoke tries to sneak back into the forecast. While it looks mostly clear for much of tonight and tomorrow, by the evening time, some of it starts coming into the western regions of the state. Luckily, it doesn’t look bad and I do not see any new air quality warnings being issued as a result.
We do have another cold front on the way from the northwest. This one is expected to be much weaker in comparison to the one that just went through. More than likely, we will see an increase in cloud cover, some strong winds, and temperatures to drop about 5 to 10 degrees for the highs. It’s funny because the front will be coming through right after the first day of fall, which starts tomorrow mid-day, and cool us down to more seasonable temperatures.
Tonight, expect cool conditions with mostly clear skies. We won’t have very many cities dropping to below freezing levels tonight, and there aren’t any warnings right now regarding frosts or freezes so plants should be just fine. Tomorrow, expect temperatures to warm right back up into the upper 70s and even some low 80s. If you didn’t like the cold blast yesterday, it’ll be warming right back up and staying like this for much of this week and into the weekend.
