Warming Back Up
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) -
This morning, conditions started off clear and cool. Skies will continue being clear throughout the afternoon. By late afternoon and early evening, clouds will move in from the west. Today’s cloud coverage will be light and scattered. Tomorrow, heavier cloud coverage will move into the southeastern corner.
Today’s smoke conditions are continuing to be light. There are random pockets of light smoke that move into certain areas this afternoon, such as Sheridan and Gillette. Overnight, heavier smoke will begin moving back into the state from the West. Tomorrow, the heavier smoke pockets will be found along the southern border. The smoke will continue being along the southern border and southwestern corner into Friday.
Yesterday, the watches, warnings, and advisories were quite colorful and different than what has shown all summer. Today, those warnings return to normal. There is a Fire Weather Warning in the southwestern corner that extends to the northeast, towards Casper. This Fire Weather Warning is in effect until 8PM Wednesday night (tonight).
High temperatures are beginning their climb once again. Today’s high temperatures are in the 70s and 80s. The 80 degree temperatures can be found in the northeastern corner and along the eastern border. Tonight, temperatures will cool into the 30s and 40s. Some areas will see low temperatures in the lower 50s. Tomorrow’s temperatures will be in the 70s across the state, with a few low 80s in the most southeastern corner.
