City Planning Commission meeting Monday
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Monday, the City Planning Commission hosts a public hearing at 6 pm.
“So, this plan really looks at traffic safety as well as moving people. So were not just talking about moving cars but we are addressing things like pedestrian safety access as well as building links within our greenway system,” said Jillian Harris, Senior Transportation Planner, Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization.
The hearing will be at the Kiwanis Community House in Lions Park.
They are allowing community members to hear more information and comment about the Converse Avenue reconstruction plan.
The plan is to ensure Cheyenne’s main roadways for traffic grow alongside incoming developments.
This construction covers the Converse corridor from Del Range to Carlson. The street updates will include pedestrian and bicycle access and linking to the Greenway system.
“Our consultants airs associates will be giving a presentation that not only outlines our process for this entire plan but as well as highlights the recommendations that came out of the plan,” said Harris.
The city is anticipating upwards of 500 housing units at the Ridgeview apartments, which will add to the current traffic capacity.
