CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Brigher Horizons Solutions is a new nonprofit that wants to help Natrona County senior citizens find resources before they are in a crisis situation.

Their headquarters is in the Fort Ministry in Mills. Matthew Snyder, the board president, said this organization is a hub for any resource people need. “People live life a certain way and then they get to a point where they don’t know who to ask,” Snyder said. Snyder said he’s willing to meet people at The Fort or meet them where they are to learn about what they need.

They can help with physical and mental health, legal services and more. Judy Ellis, the executive director, and Certified Senior Advisor said her role is to keep up with community resources. “I keep in contact with them and find new ones and learn what they offer,” Ellis said. They seek a variety of resources so people they’re helping can be independent. “They need to be able to make their own choices,” Ellis said.

Since winter weather is here, they are helping coordinate volunteers to help seniors shovel driveways and steps. “Seniors have been calling 911 in Mills because they need their sidewalk shoveled so they can go out and not hurt themselves,” Ellis said.

It’s rewarding to Snyder to hear from people appreciating the organization’s efforts. “Even the effort of communicating to people that you’re trying for you is a big thing and I’ve really enjoyed that,” Snyder said.
