CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Cheyenne Central (1-7) and Laramie (1-7) meet in the Wyoming News Now Friday Frenzy Game of the Week. It’s a “win and you’re in” scenario as both teams fight to extend their season into the playoffs.

Despite only winning one game this season, it feels like the Indians are better than their record indicates. The Tribe has lost four one-score games this season, including matchups against Thunder Basin (10-7 loss) and Cheyenne East (33-27 loss).

For Central, this is a playoff-like game on Friday and it may serve as a way to wipe away the year’s frustrations.

“I feel like, we’ve only had one this season but I feel like if we win this game this coming Friday that we’ll have had two wins essentially,” said Central Senior Charlie Nichols. “We’ll have our second win of the season [and] the next win is that we’ll be level with all the other teams going into the playoffs.”

The Indians have made the playoffs every year since 2016, so this senior class is fighting to keep the streak alive.

“The energy is definitely up and we’re excited for this,” said Central Senior Ethan Lacey. “I mean, last game, right here and we just gotta take it to ‘em.”

The Indians and Plainsmen kickoff from Riske Field at 6 p.m. on Friday.
