CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Black Friday and Shop Small Saturday are happening this Friday and Saturday.

Local shops in the downtown core will be open for Christmas shoppers who want to get the best deals and shop local.

And folks are encouraged to support local businesses for their holiday gifts and treats.

Menard’s Black Friday event started today and will run for 10 days.

“I’ve always enjoyed the Black Friday, this is my 20th year doing it. I’ve always enjoyed the Black Friday event and toys for tots we’ve got that going. We’re having some really good fun with it,” said Trevor Fisk, General Manager of Menard’s Cheyenne.

Indigo Buffalo Turquoise thinks folks will want to get more meaningful gifts this year.

”People are very interested in getting gift this year that mean something. That have more than just a moment of gratification or satisfaction. I think they want something that has lasting value and that people are going to use over and over and appreciate,” said Emily Reisdorfer, Owner, Indigo Buffalo Turquoise.

And that their business is growing.

“We’re expanding into more than just turquoise. We have a lot of varieties of jewelry, and wellness items coming, so keep an eye out for at,” Santi Murillo, Manager, Indigo Buffalo Turquoise.

Family-owned and Operated Mary’s Mountain Cookies has developed 8 new flavors for the season and has 27 different flavors in store.

The three-year-old business has survived the pandemic and is now thriving thanks to the community support they get in Cheyenne.

”It was tough but im happy we’re in cheyenne. They took care of us people are really supportive, i mean if we would have been anywhere else we would have been in trouble but its been excellent,” said Katie Brandy, Owner/Operator, Mary’s Mountain Cookies.

Local businesses thrive in a community where people care enough to shop local and support their neighbors during the holiday season.

There will be deals available before and after the Christmas parade on Saturday.
