Casper Police Release more details concerning August 13 high speed chase
CASPER, Wyo. (Press Release) - During the early morning hours of Friday, August 12th, 2022, Casper Police Department Officers responded to a robbery at 1510 Centennial Court – Loaf and Jug.
During the initial investigation, it was learned a male had entered the store and demanded money from the clerk at Loaf and Jug. The male displayed, what was believed to be the handle of a weapon, concealed in his waistband.
The male fled the scene prior to the officer’s arrival with an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. The Loaf and Jug employee was not physically harmed during the robbery.
Approximately 20 minutes elapsed, and a similar report was taken by the Public Safety Communication Center of a male entering a Loaf and Jug location in Evansville, Wyoming. The male subject demanded money, displayed a weapon concealed in his waistband, and again fled the scene.
Around 9:00 pm Friday evening, Evansville Police Department located a vehicle associated with both of the robberies, in the area of the second robbery. Evansville officers attempted to stop the vehicle which fled, leading officers on a high-speed pursuit through Evansville and into Casper. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed in the area of 2nd Street and Kimball Street. Two individuals were apprehended shortly after. Both were treated by medical responders, one of which was determined to have serious, but nonlife-threatening injuries, and was transported to Wyoming Medical Center for further treatment.
Law Enforcement is continuing their investigation and is asking the public if they have any additional information related to these two events, to please contact the Casper Police Department or the Evansville Police Department.
Presently, The Casper Police Department does not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community as it relates to these isolated events.
