CASPER, Wyo. (RELEASE) - Hogadon Basin Ski Area will operate on a day-to-day basis Dec. 21, 22 and 23 due to forecasts of dangerously low temperatures and high winds. The resort will announce each morning whether or not it will be open for the day.
“The safety of our guests and staff is our top priority, so we’ll be monitoring conditions closely throughout the rest of the week,” Hogadon Superintendent Chris Smith said. The City of Casper closes Hogadon if roads to Hogadon are closed or if weather, chair lifts, or other operational circumstances make the area unsafe. Some of those conditions might include high sustained winds exceeding 55 MPH or Severe Weather Alert from the National Weather Service for extreme cold.
Hogadon encourages guests to check the City’s and the ski area’s social media channels and websites for the latest updates on operation status. Staff will be making announcements as early as possible Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.
