Central Hoops split two tightly contested games with Scottsbluff on Friday

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The people in attendance for Central and Scottsbluff’s basketball games Friday may want to consult with their nearest cardiologist.

In the first game, the girls teams put on a scoring clinic. Izzy Kelly drained a half court buzzer beater to knot it at 32 going into the break, and all throughout the game Morgan Kirkbride was simply unguardable. In the final minute though, Scottsbluff made a few crucial baskets and sunk clutch free throws to deny Central in a 61-58 defeat for the Lady Indians.

The boys game was somehow able to adequately follow up (maybe even top) the previous game. The first half it looked like the Bearcats were in control, but Central went to the and-one well several times to keep them in striking distance. The Indians then turned it up a notch in the second half, and a 4th quarter buzzer beater from Joseph Sawyer lifted them to a 56-55 victory.
