CRMC to host 14th annual ‘Wake up to Heart Health’
Event headlined by keynote speaker, cardiologist Dr. Vipul Madhwani
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Do you know what to do if you see someone having a heart attack?
Find that answer and far more when the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC) hosts an event called ‘Wake up to Heart Health.’
In their pursuit to save lives and educate the community on heart health, CRMC has planned a full day of activities including a CPR booth, virtual grocery store tour, and a testimony from a heart attack patient.
Subject to frequent ‘hanger?’ The day also includes a continental breakfast and a heart-healthy lunch.
It’ll all be headlined by the event’s keynote speaker, CRMC cardiologist, Dr. Vipul Madhwani. He’ll discuss a wide range of topics around heart health but most notably, recognition and risk factors for heart disease, COVID-19, and cardiovascular disease.
To CRMC, the urgency and importance of heart disease awareness is frontier.
“Cardiovascular disease is one of the leading causes of mortality in the United States.” said Madhwani. “One person dies every 41 seconds due to Cardiovascular disease.”
The event will also include a Q&A with a panel of experts and a talk from a dietician with nutrition tips and information on how to read food labels.
‘Wake Up to Heart Health’ is on Feb. 4 and begins at 9 a.m at the Blue Community Events Center.
Register for the event here or call 307-633-7667 to sign up.
The cost is $25 but a portion of the funds will go towards purchasing an AED device to be placed in the community.
The registration deadline is Jan. 31.
