Laramie put up valiant efforts, but East proved to be too much in Thursday night’s doubleheader
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - East traveled to Laramie for both of their teams’ second game in as many days, and they were both tested by the Plainsmen/Lady Plainsmen on Thursday night.
The Lady T-Birds built up a comfortable first half lead, but Addison Forry spearheaded a strong second half effort from the Lady Plainsmen. East’s lead dwindled to four, but they got Laramie into foul trouble in the fourth quarter. Elysiana Fonseca got to the charity stripe seemingly every possession of that frame, and the Lady T-Birds were able to thwart the comeback attempt and pick up a 43-34 victory.
The boys game followed a similar trajectory to the prior contest-- although it was a considerably higher scoring affair. East was ahead by double digits going into halftime, but Laramie was able to string together some runs out of the break. Ultimately though the T-Birds held them off, and they secured a 74-66 victory to remain undefeated against 4A competition.
