Underdogs Feature in 2A Girls Championship, Both East Teams Reach Regional Final On Day 2 of Casper Tournaments

CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - The 1A and 2A state finals matchups and the 4A East regional finals are both officially set after Friday’s games in Casper.

The Burns Lady Broncs were able to pull off another stunning playoff victory, this time knocking off third ranked Sundance just a day after they beat the top dog Rocky Mountain. Meeting them in the championship will be Southeast quadrant foe Lingle Ft.-Laramie after they gutted out a 57-52 victory in a back and forth contest against #3 Tongue River.

All of the Cheyenne schools were in action at the 4A East regionals. After losing their first games, South and Central both faced elimination and it would be Central who pulled away late in the game 64-48. East took on Laramie to see who would make it to the regional championship game, and the Thunderbirds prevailed after a back and forth contest 56-41.
