CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Colder temperatures will come into the area tonight before this snow and we’ll be down into the mid 20s for the night tonight. Thankfully the wind will relent late tonight so the overnight hours won’t be as cold.

Tomorrow’s highs won’t be as warm as today around the area and that’s all thanks to the winter weather coming in from our south overnight tonight and early tomorrow morning.

Speaking of winter weather, this is how it’ll set up tomorrow, it will come in from our south and bring in snow to start. Likely just some spotty snow showers and flurries early in the morning. Rain could be possible with it as well. Then later in the morning into the afternoon, a band of snow will move to the north into Casper and one will stay to the south in Cheyenne to Rawlins. These bands will likely have snow showers with them but the snow could melt quickly as our highs will be well above freezing in Cheyenne. Casper isn’t quite as warm but it still may melt some snow before it falls. Both areas should be too warm for the snow to stick early on which will limit accumulation. As the snow falls though, the ground will get colder and the snow will start to stick. In higher elevations, the snow may stick right away leading to larger accumulations. At the end of the event and the end of Wednesday as well, in Cheyenne the snow will likely switch to all rain and snow will still be around in Casper but around midnight, the snow and rain will exit the area. In all, accumulations from this snowfall will likely be limited although the higher elevations such as the Snowy and Sierra Madre ranges could see quite a bit of accumulation to due their height, temperature, and the snow sticking around for a while.

Wrapping things up with our extended forecasts, after the snowy Wednesday warmer temperatures will return in the new week but we have to get through a cool weekend first. Next week will get us back near 50 with plenty of sun and wind too though. In Casper, after the snowy Wednesday the Wyoming winds return and we’ll have breezy days ahead as well as a cool weekend. Warmer days and sunshine will return in the new week.
