Wyoming school district makes $15,000 during eclipse
One Wyoming school district made a smart move and made some cash off the eclipse.
Platte County School District #2 in Guernsey wanted to raise some money for their school, so they rented out spots on their school football field and practice field on Monday morning. More than 600 people showed up to get the 10-yard by 10-yard spots at $100 a pop.
School Superintendent Mike Beard tells us the plan paid off, the spots sold out in a day, and they made more than $15,000.
Beard tells CBS Newschannel 5 that so many people pitched in to help, including the basketball and football teams, and says the money will go towards the students, including new equipment such as jerseys for the football team.
